Senior Curator to Bromma District Administration
Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Bromma District Administration offers you a workplace where your efforts can truly make a difference and contribute to the public good in a growing district. Here, active employee participation and clear leadership are the foundation for a developing organization.
Welcome to us
The Elderly Care Department is responsible for, among other things, authority exercises, home care in ordinary housing under its own management, day activities, special housing forms with round-the-clock care, and preventive activities.
With us, quality, development, and the perspective of the elderly are at the center.
We offer
With us, you will meet a culture characterized by development, responsibility, and openness. The position is new in the department and aims to strengthen the development of elderly care in the area of mental health, with a clear preventive focus.
The employment is a project position for one year. You will be part of the department's staff along with other strategic functions and work closely with the department head and operations.
We also offer flexible working hours, wellness benefits, vacation exchange, and some opportunity for remote work. You will be based at our new activity-based office at Bromma Blocks but will also work closely with our operations.
If you want to know more about our benefits or what it is like to work in the city: Work in Stockholm City (https://www.stockholm.se/jobba-i-staden).
A warm greeting from Julia, your future manager
”My name is Julia, and I welcome you who want to help strengthen the quality and development of elderly care with us. In my staff, we work closely together, with great trust and freedom under responsibility. For me, it is important that we thrive, as that will also lead to results. If you have a commitment to elderly care, enjoy working both strategically and operationally, and want to contribute to a sustainable and quality service for our elderly, I believe you will thrive with us.”
Welcome to a forward-looking department with a clear focus on the elderly residents of Stockholm!
Your role
In the role of Senior Curator, you will become a central resource in the work of elderly care concerning mental health. You will support operations under your own management and contribute to strengthening preventive and health-promoting work in close collaboration with functions such as relative consultants and senior guides.
You will work both strategically and operationally with colleagues in the department's staff as well as with managers in home care, care homes, and authority exercises. The assignment is broad and varied, and you will adapt the work according to current needs and priorities in the operations.
The work involves meetings with elderly individuals and relatives in crisis or complex life situations. Therefore, it is important that you have the ability to create security, instill hope, and meet people with professionalism and respect.
As a Senior Curator, you actively contribute to quality and organizational development within the department's three main areas. One of your first assignments will be to participate in developing the moving-in process at the district's special housing, where you will also have direct contact with the elderly and their relatives during a new move-in. You will also plan, lead, and coordinate training, supervision, and reflection sessions for employees within elderly care operations.
Since the position is new in the district, you will also have the opportunity to shape the assignment and help create the structures and working methods needed moving forward. You will lead your own processes, build relationships both within and outside the department, and contribute to creating coherence and context in the continued development of elderly care.
Your competence and experience
We are looking for someone who has:
- a degree in social work
- several years of experience in elderly care, addiction treatment, or a related field
- training and experience in motivational interviewing (MI) or equivalent method
- very good communication skills in Swedish, both orally and in writing
- experience working independently, driving your own processes, and creating structure
It is an advantage if you have:
- completed supervisor training
- experience in quality and development work within elderly care
We place great emphasis on the following personal competencies:
In the role of Senior Curator, you meet people in a vulnerable situation, which is why you need to be calm and stable as a person. Since the role is independent, you need to be responsible, self-driven, and structured, as well as good at planning and driving your work forward. As you have many points of contact, you need to be relationship-building, have good collaboration skills, good communication skills, and a pedagogical flair. You are solution-oriented and flexible in your approach and can reprioritize when necessary. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Other
We recruit without a personal letter in this recruitment to strengthen the focus on the competencies and experiences required for this role. In assessing your application, we will only base our decision on your CV and a number of questions you will need to answer when applying for the position. We ask that you respond concretely and concisely to the questions, and that there is a clear connection between your answers and your CV.
The recruitment process consists of ongoing interviews, work samples, and reference checks.
Warm welcome with your application! Stockholm City works with competency-based recruitment aimed at ensuring each person's competence and thereby counteracting discrimination.
For any interview, please bring a Swedish ID and relevant original documents for the position, educational certificates, any issued professional licenses, certificates, or work permits.
To work with Stockholm City with the elderly and people with disabilities in their homes, you must provide an extract from the criminal record. The extract must not be older than 6 months from the date of issue.
